The Best For Last

Save the best for last, they say, and fashion month surely sticks to this principle. Paris gave us creme de la creme of all the fashion designers. My favourite was Balmain, who impressed me with its signature bodycon dresses with accentuated waist, bold shoulders and high necklines. You can really see that Olivier Rousteing's bff Kim K. has a big impact on him, since the collection screams her name. He even transformed Kendall into her big sister by changing her color to platinum blonde. I don't know what's his magical power, but somehow he managed to brought all the iconic old cats to the runway - Cindy Crawford, Claudia Shiffer and Naomi Campbell made the show unforgettable.

Let's move on to Chanel, which collection was in the name of pearls, bows and frills. It was classy as always, but I didn't quite like it as much as I usually do. Instead I was blown away by Elie Saab and its rocker-chic pieces. Just take a look at the leather jackets encrusted with pretty flowers.. or long easy dresses fasten with cowboy belts. It was all about the dark romance with a touch of mysteriousness that makes every woman sexy.

Christian Dior stayed true to its minimalism and clean lines. The piece I liked the most was the fur dress coat with deep nekline that Kendall wore on the catwalk. She was like a gothic goddess! Longchamp also had some amazing striped fur pieces & knits and Zuhair Murad's colletion was basically a copy of Elie Saab (which isn't bad at all).

Now enough talking and on to the photos. Here are some of my favourite looks. Which are yours?

Mixing Materials in Milan

Italy isn't only know for its delicious pasta, but also for its exquisite taste in fashion. Don't believe me? Just take a look at the collections of Alberta Ferretti, Giambattista Valli or Dolce & Gabbana and you'll have a proof.

After scaning all the looks from MFW I can see a lot of similarities among designers. There was a lot of delicate lace embroidered with flowers and shiny embellishments, tulle dresses combined with heavier materials like leather or knitwear and even satin paired with fur. To sum up, it seems like in the upcoming fall and winter we'll be mixing materials like PROs.

Now let's take a closer look at my favourite collections. There aren't any newcomers on my favourites' list, except Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, which I haven't even noted since now. He described his collection as a mashup of Princess Diana and Siouxsie Sioux and just a glance at some of the pieces confirms the claim. With high-neck blouses and pleated baggy trousers he managed to show that era in an updated version. His collection is a combination of femininity and girlishness, which I absolutely love.

Dolce & Gabbana was magical too. The show was a set of different fairytales and Stefano & Domenico were the storytellers, telling us the stories through their amazing clothes. "Fashion makes people dream," they said. Oh, and how we dreamed. Dreamed about their princess dresses, hanging in our closet. Let's hope dreams really do come true.

All Hail For McQueen

I've never perceived London as a city of fashion and my feelings prove to be true every time I look at fashion week collections. I've been THE biggest fan of Burberry for so long, but since two years ago the collections just aren't as good as before. I feel like they've lost that feminine vibe and are somehow missing a common thread.

But let's talk about the ones that stood out. Actually, there was only one for me and that's Alexander McQueen. Its collection was just ah-mazing! I was blown away by the sensitive wibe that felt like a fairytale. Long sheer capes with sprinkled stardust gave the illusion of a night sky and butterfly prints on a lacey cut-out dresses transformed models into sexy fairies. I also loved the mix and match of a delicate lace and rocker chic leather, which is a go-to combination for 50% good/50% bad girls ;)

Now tell me, how did you like McQueen? Or was there any other designer that stood out? I can't wait to hear your thoughts! :)

New York, New York

The best thing about fashion month is that it always gives me that special feeling.. something between excitement and fascination. I think it's amazing just to think about how many thoughts go into collections and how much effort is put in the work of those precious pieces.

Let's go back to the first destination - New York, which served some of the most amazing collections. My favourite was Reem Acra, followed by Marchesa, Red Valentino and Kate Spade. Tommy Hilfiger proved that it's not just all about polo shirts, stripes and bermuda shorts, Valentino's collection had some great day-to-night pieces and Marchesa's red dress made me want to get married in it.

Diane Von Furstenberg's fashion show spread the power of love. The girls were dancing on the catwalk and having fun BUT.. the clothes didn't impress me. Michael Kors also didn't present anything breathtaking and Oscar de la Renta's collections just aren't the same since the great master died. When he left, a piece of magic left with him.

But let's concentrate on the good ones. Take a look at some of my favourite pieces. Which are yours?
