It's a Fake Fake World

When I was younger, I was looking up to Insta girls. 'OMG, they're so perfect, I wanna be like them, I wanna live their lives!' Now I'm happy that I'm NOT one of them. Because they're all the same and I'm different. In the world of fake Kardashians I stand out.

It was the year 2010 and Instagram just launched. There were no selfies, no heavy makeup, no fake butts. Yet. People were posting photos of their dogs, babies and food. Photos with bad resolution and heavy filters. It was until the Kardashians discovered social media. Suddenly everyone wanted to look like them - big ass, big boobs, tiny waist. Ten layers of makeup, perfect hair and lips bigger than Jay Z's.

'Duck face' phase was nothing compared to what's happening now. I't all fake. Instagram has become a competition in who would look more like Kardashians. When I scroll through the 'Explore' page on my Insta, it's like I was looking at only one profile - all the girls are the same.

Fake it till you make it they say, but is all this fakeness worth to sell your soul to the internet?

People actually hire a photographer to shoot a bunch of photos of them so they have enough material to post on Insta for two weeks. Imagine a picture with a girl running across the road, looking into the distance. 'Oh no, I'm late for work'. Right. So late that somehow she still managed to pose for dozens of photos. Or 'Yummy, look at my delicious breakfast' and behind that: Everyone's food is cold, cuz I made them wait to take THE perfect shot. Of course this also includes standing on a chair for a better perspective.

Oh and this one's also good. A video of Shay Mitchell going to Coachella. She took a hairdresser, a makeup artist and two big suitcases with her. For 3 days. I mean, where's the fun in going to the festival and then having someone touch up your makeup every five minutes? I don't know, maybe I just don't get it. Maybe the point isn't in dancing and listening to the music anymore but taking the perfect photo. You know with one hand raised in the air, showing peace sign and ferris wheel in the background.

And let me tell you, this Insta obsession almost got to me too. When I was packing for a vacation, I cought myself thinking which dresses would look best on the photos with the tropical scene. And when we were there I was angry when my boyfriend didn't catch the right angle of my face in the photo. Hello? What's happening? I was so blinded by all that nonsense that I forgot to relax and enjoy the moment.

Don't get me wrong, I love to take photos and look at good ones on Instagram. And I know that social medias have become a platform of earning money for a lot of people. But I think it's silly to dedicate all your life to it and create a fake image of yourself. An image that is just a copy of every other girl or boy on Instagram. Don't be like everyone else. Do it differently. Be unique, be the REAL you!

Ask yourself what will happen if social media disapears overnight. What will you have left?

Fresh Couples And Angry Exes At The MET Gala 2017

Met Gala proved once again that fashion is very much an art. Celebrities really go overboard every year with their dresses and let the media talk about them for the next few weeks. It's that kind of event where you either make it or break it. So let's see who did what this year.

Starting with the boldest and most outrageous outfits, here are Rihanna and Katy Perry. Riri, known for her outstanding gowns, arrived last (maybe because of the trouble with dress that she had before entering) and shut down the red carpet.

She was wearing Comme des Garcons piece of art (or was piece of art wearing her?) that was an architectural wonder. It was consisted of floral pieces of fabric that looked like petals. I can't decide what she reminded me of. Maybe a parrot? A sponge? Yes, she did portrayed the theme very well, but maybe even too much.

But it didn't stop with only one over-the-top outfit. She got people talking AGAIN when she changed for the afterparty. She was wearing pyama top with no pants and fluffy slippers. I guess this is what happens when you ran out of ideas.

Singlehood isn't doing any good for Katy Perry. Seems like her intentions to look like a hot goddess went totally wrong. She turned out looking like ... I don't know, a hydrant?!

And it got even worse at the afterparty. She covered herself in a sequin coat and underneath wore a sparkly peachy one-piece with garter belt. This is the strangest and most confusing look I've ever seen. Orlando, please, take her back!

From fresh singles to hot new couples. J.Lo presented her new boyfriend baseball player Alex Rodriguez to the crowd.

She wore long baby blue dress and was a real impersonation of  Elsa from Frozen. What surprised me the most is that the dress didn't reveal any skin. Wow, J.Lo's growing up! Or maybe is just the impact of her new bf, who is 11 years older that the previous one. You know, she's gotta merge into older community.

Another couple that couldn't keep their hands to themselves are Selena Gomez + The Weeknd. Just the exact time last year she was single and he was there with Bella Hadid. How things change.

I do admit that love looks good on Selena. She was smiling all the time and you could feel some kind of peacefullnes in her. I'm glad that she's back on track after suffering from depression but let's talk about her dress. It didn't convince me at all.

Yes, it's fresh and youthful and perfect for Teens Choice Awards, but Met Gala? No. It's the only event of the year where she could go overboard and wear something crazy and daring. But didn't. Oh well, how can we blame her, she was probably too occupied cuddling with her bf.

Since we're talking about The Weeknd, it's only right to include his ex Bella Hadid into conversation. It looks like she took revenge on him in the best way possible - with her smoking hot revenge body.

She wore tight to the skin black lace bodysuit that hugged all her curves and even made the ladies scream (just look at the girl in the background). The only thing that made me think is how she peed? Hmm ... anyways, she even debuted a lob haircut, which is suspiciously similar to Selena Gomez's. Part of a revenge or just a trend?

Now let's stop for a second to admire her model bestie Kendall Jenner in her so called 'liquid' dress from La Perla. It doesn't have any fabric, just threads and 85.000 crystals. I was hand-sewn by over 60 people in 5 different cities. I mean, WOW! She looked ah-mazing!

For the afterparty she changed into something much shorter but just as sexy. I don't think anyone else can pull of a combination of latex mini skirt and sheer yellow oversized top like she did.

Apart from Kendall who looked smoking hot on the blue carpet, her younger sister Kylie failed to achieve the same effect.

Her sheer Versace dress was almost the same as last year's gown. The only differences that I see are fuller lips, bigger hips a few more cosmetic surgeries. Is there anything natural left on her at all?

Since her Paris roberry, Kim K decided to not show off with her wealth. Apparently that means not wearing any jewelry and wrapping herself in bed linen. Not so smart decision.

Ok, now let's talk about real stuff - my favourite looks from the blue carpet. First, Lily James. OMG, she looked stunning! Who knew that a simple black and white dress can make such a perfect outfit.

Well, 'simple' is an understatement. Her Burberry dress had a black oversized bow at the back that made a perfect finish to her look. If you ask me, she looked like a perfectly wrapped candy.

Very similar, but a little more serious look. Emmy Rossum was one of a few who decided to wear pants to the gala. That was a wise choice. She looked faboulous!

And last but not least, Liu Wen. She always impresses me with her elegant and chic outfits. This time she combined delicate sheer bodice with appliqued birds and denim. Elegant, modern and totally theme appropriate.

TOP 5 Series to Watch With Your Boyfriend

I'm sure every couple likes to watch series together. They're perfect to forget all the worries, relax on a couch and cuddle with your better half. Here are 5 series that me and my boyfriend love to watch after a hard day at work. Which are yours?

1. WESTWORLD
We started to watch Westworld a month ago and the series totally soaked us in. It's about a futuristic theme park called Westworld which is populated with artificial people (so called hosts), who look just like real people. West world is made for rich people, who come there to live out their fantasies without any concequences ... until now. Because of the upgrades in their sistem, hosts start to fight back and the story is getting more and more tense! I know it might sound very sci-fi, but it's really not, otherwise I wouldn't like it.

Why I love it: Because it makes me think. I think this fantasy world is a great comparison to the world of social media, where we can easily hide our identity and basically say or write whatever we want, without some serious consequenes. It's fascinating to see how far our technolgy development has come and how we're exploiting it for all the wrong things (if you ask me). I think it's just a matter of time when this kind of world will acctually exist.

Why he loves it: Because it shows human in his true nature - as an animal. Bonus points also go to Anthony Hopkins, whose acting is just incredible!

2. HOUSE OF CARDS
I'm sure you know this one. When I first watched House of Cards I found it kind of boring. But my boyfriend convinced me to continue watching it and after a few episodes I started to like it more and more. The story is about a congressman who wants to become a president and manipulates his way into the White House. There is a lot of political language involved (which is hard for me to understand), but that's when my boyfriend comes in handy and here and there explains to me what's going on. I get educated and he feels important, so it's a win-win situation!

Why I love it: Because of the drama and intrigues, of course. And also because of all the smart terms that I learn. 😎

Why he loves it: He's very into politics and this series gives him an inside look into the functioning of American democracy. It has a great script and he also likes the two main characters and their fu**ed up personalities.

3. THE ROYALS
Rich people, exquisite dresses, luxury, tragedies and a lot of intrigues. This series is like a royal version of Gossip Girl. You get to know the british royal family which is nothing like a real royal family. The queen (amazing Liz Hurley) is a schemer, the princess is smoking pot and having fun with boys, king's brother wants to kill him and the princess' bodyguard is a thief. The only person who is really good by heart is the king. The story is dynamic and the characters are really really good.

Why I love itBecause of the amazing gowns and a lot of drama.

Why he loves itActually he doesn't. But I don't give him any other choice but to watch it with me 😉

4. BATES MOTEL
I remember that when we watched the first episode, we were like: "Omg, these actors are so lame, they don't even know how to act! What is this?" But for some reason we went on and soon realized that it's not the actors that are bad, but it's their characters that are so messed up. Bates Motel is some kind of modern prequel of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho from 1960. We get to know mother Norma and her son Norman who have very (sick) patological relationship. Norman is mentally ill and his illness soon becomes very dangerous. The story is sooo good & sooo intense. There is also a lot of blood and dead bodies involved.

Why I love it: I love it because the story holds me in tension all the time! I can't wait for the next season to come!

Why he loves it: He loves it because of the good choice of unknown actors, which makes the series very different from typical Hollywood movies. It's more like a german/french crime drama.

5. THE MIDDLE
The main purpose of this series is to watch, laugh and relax. And then forget about it. It's a sitcom about a middle-class family, who deal with everyday situatuions. And they do this VERY clumsily. They have three kids - shirtless Axl, clumsy Sue and bookworm Brick and they're all so so funny. The series it's already in its eight season, which means a looot of laugh ahead of you! Every episode tells a new story, so it doesn't matter where you start watching it.

Why I love it: I like to watch it when I come home from hard day at work, pour a glass of wine and just chill with the Hecks. They make me laugh and that's enough. 😁

Why he loves it:
For the very same reason.

Which series do YOU like to watch with your boyfriend/girlfriend? Do you have any suggestions for us? Can't wait to hear them! :)

Mermaids And Squids At The People's Choice Awards

With Golden Globes 10 days ago the award season has officially begun. But who cares about the awards. What we're most interested about are the red carpet looks, right? So last night all the important celebrities attended People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles and gave us great opportunity to talk about their outfits. Let's see who did it right and who totally sucked.

I'm often annoyed by Jennifer Lopez's too-naked red carpet looks, but this time she totally impressed me. Long black Reem Acra dress with elegant embellishment at the front made her look elegant and classy, but still very sexy. The only thing that bothers me is the bra, peeking out of her trimmings. She's used to go out with no panties, so dress without bra shouldn't be such big of a deal.

It was the first time that Fifth Harmony appeared in public without Camila Cabello and it seems like her leaving really hurt them. What were they thinking putting on such outfits?! They wore nude gowns which looked like they're made out of a silk bedding and were revealing their bodies right where they shouldn't. No wonder Camila said she felt sexualized while being in the group.

Their second look was no better. With leather, latex and collars they looked like night club dancers rather than promising young singers. Given that they are barely at the beginning of their twenties, they could wait with such sexy and revealing looks for a few years (or ever) and insted put on some cute, elegant dresses.

With her short black fringe dress Blake Lively reminded me of a charlestone dancer. The outfit completely hid her feminine curves and gave her a few extra pounds. She would look much beter in longer dress that emphasized her figure. And some brighter color wouldn't hurt too.

Gwen Stefani stayed true to her funky style and came to the event as a modern Alice in Wonderland. She wore Reem Acra two-piece to which she added fishnet tights for more edgier look. She was glowing! No wonder her country lover Blake Shelton said she is the hottest date of the evening when he received the award for best country singer.

Wow, Victoria Justice looked like a real life Pocahontas in her short beaded dress and strict sleek dark hair. She added some basic silver sandals to the look and didn't exaggerate with jewelry. Just perfect!

Ruby Rose proved that orange CAN actually be the new black! She wore a tightly-fitted pants with plunging orange blazer that showed off one of her many tattooes. She finished her edgy look with classic black pumps, dark plum lipstick and messy hair. This is how a bad girl look like!

Kristen Bell chose highwaisted jumpsuit instead of a dress and I have to say it was a smart decision. She looked sooo tall even though she's only 1,55 m. Silver glitter reminisced of fish scales and those white pads on her boobs looked like shells. Just like a mermaid!

The first impression that came to my mind when I saw Sofia Vergara's outfit was: squid in a condom. Lol I know it sounds absurd, but so is her dress. I like the upper part - it has her signature push up style, but skirt is just toooo tight and the ruffles at the bottom don't help to make her look good either.

I don't know why everyone is so obsessed with Sarah Jessica Parker's sense of fashion, because it's just ridiculous! I don't even know what to say about this dress, because the gloves ruin everything. We're in 2017, not 1952!

How can 18-year-old girl have such a good taste in fashion? I want this dress in my closet! Actress Peyton List wore adorable Yanina Couture mini with sheer topper that made her look so elegant yet so youthful. It wouldn't be bad if some other young actresses looked up to her.

She has good sense of humor, be she sure doesn't have a good taste for fashion. Melissa McCarthy's florat two-piece was horrible. The fabric would be perfect for some home accessories (like carpet, curtains or couch) but definitely not for clothing. It's just wrong on so many levels.
