When I was younger, I was looking up to Insta girls. 'OMG, they're so perfect, I wanna be like them, I wanna live their lives!' Now I'm happy that I'm NOT one of them. Because they're all the same and I'm different. In the world of fake Kardashians I stand out. 

It was the year 2010 and Instagram just launched. There were no selfies, no heavy makeup, no fake butts. Yet. People were posting photos of their dogs, babies and food. Photos with bad resolution and heavy filters. It was until the Kardashians discovered social media. Suddenly everyone wanted to look like them - big ass, big boobs, tiny waist. Ten layers of makeup, perfect hair and lips bigger than Jay Z's.

'Duck face' phase was nothing compared to what's happening now. I't all fake. Instagram has become a competition in who would look more like Kardashians. When I scroll through the 'Explore' page on my Insta, it's like I was looking at only one profile - all the girls are the same.

Fake it till you make it they say, but is all this fakeness worth to sell your soul to the internet? 

People actually hire a photographer to shoot a bunch of photos of them so they have enough material to post on Insta for two weeks. Imagine a picture with a girl running across the road, looking into the distance. 'Oh no, I'm late for work'. Right. So late that somehow she still managed to pose for dozens of photos. Or 'Yummy, look at my delicious breakfast' and behind that: Everyone's food is cold, cuz I made them wait to take THE perfect shot. Of course this also includes standing on a chair for a better perspective. 

Oh and this one's also good. A video of Shay Mitchell going to Coachella. She took a hairdresser, a makeup artist and two big suitcases with her. For 3 days. I mean, where's the fun in going to the festival and then having someone touch up your makeup every five minutes? I don't know, maybe I just don't get it. Maybe the point isn't in dancing and listening to the music anymore but taking the perfect photo. You know with one hand raised in the air, showing peace sign and ferris wheel in the background.

And let me tell you, this Insta obsession almost got to me too. When I was packing for a vacation, I cought myself thinking which dresses would look best on the photos with the tropical scene. And when we were there I was angry when my boyfriend didn't catch the right angle of my face in the photo. Hello? What's happening? I was so blinded by all that nonsense that I forgot to relax and enjoy the moment.

Don't get me wrong, I love to take photos and look at good ones on Instagram. And I know that social medias have become a platform of earning money for a lot of people. But I think it's silly to dedicate all your life to it and create a fake image of yourself. An image that is just a copy of every other girl or boy on Instagram. Don't be like everyone else. Do it differently. Be unique, be the REAL you!

Ask yourself what will happen if social media disapears overnight. What will you have left?

Hey hey! As you may know in Instaparty posts I like to talk about a little more personal topics that arise in my mind. But since my mind is off at the moment, I just wanted to update you guys on what's been going on with my life. May has passed by so fast, I don't even remember what happened during the month.. thank god for Instagram to remember me what I've been doing.. and eating! ;)

 

NEW MORNING ROUTINE
Lately I fell out of my morning routine and it was about time to get back on track. So I started waking up eary (6.20 to be exact) and start the day with my workout routine (I love exercises by Blogilates) by doing 45 minutes of arms, abs, butt and leg excercises. Then I jump in the shower and after that make myself a smoothie (if you follow me on Snapchat, you know I'm a huge smoothie addict). By the time I finish drinking it, it's 8 o'clock and I still have the whole day ahead of me!

 

 

ROOM MAKEOVER
Ever since I moved into my new appartment in Ljubljana, I wanted to redecorate my room and add a litte more personal touch to it, but never found the time to do it. Now I've finally managed to do a few DIYs, like this nailpolish stand and DIY pictures, made of old fashion magazines. I also added some pretty photos on the walls and put a whiteboard over my desk. It's amazing how little things can change the whole room and give it such a good vibes. It's also so much easier to work in a pretty environment than in a dull room.

Since it's weekend, I though it would be more than suitable to talk about these three most worshiped days of the week. Everyone loves weekends, right? There's no work, no lectures and no worries. It's time to relax and spend time with your friends and family and of course have fun & party till the morning! These two (and a half) days pass by so fast that before you know it there's Monday again and you can start counting days till next Friday.

So this is how I usually spend my weekends in Ljubljana. How do you spend yours?

 

I start my day with a smoothie and while I drink it, I check all of my favourite blogs and scroll through Instagram and Facebook feed to inform myself with the latest news and to get some inspiration. Then I usually do my makeup and nails and eat some chocolate hearts while the nailpolish is drying ;)

Then it's time to shoot photos for blog and Instagram. The process of getting that perfect picture can take a lot of time, so I always stick to these tips and tricks, that make the whole thing much easier.

 

 

After that I go to the city to run some errands and enjoy the sun in my beautiful city. I usually have lunch at home, but on the weekends I like to eat out with my friends (Dabuda is the place to be). Of course, after every lunch it's time for some ice cream (Vigo has THE BEST in town!)

 

Evenings are usually reserved for hanging out with friends. We like to have a glass of wine (or 2 or 3) next to the Ljubljanica river and observe people that pass by. If everything goes as planned, I'd be going home in the morning, watching the sunrise ;)

Hey hey, long time no see. If you've been wondering what's been going on and why there aren't any new posts - here's what happened.. I sat down at my desk a few times, wanting to write a blog post but ended up starring at the screen without any inspiration.. and this went on for a month! Is it only such period of time or is it me? The thing is I have a lot of ideas, but seem to not be able to realized them. Do you cope with similar problems? What do you do when you lose your inspiration and how do you get back on track? I'd love to hear your ideas and advice!

All that said, here's what I've been doing instead of writting new blog posts ;)

.. taking a trip to the seaside with my bestie

 

 
.. eagerly expecting warmer days
by walking on sunshine, eating ice-cream and throwing it back
to one of the summer vacations 

.. shopping, taking care of my Instafeed with carefully staged photos
and getting back in shape by drinking smoothies and working out. I hope
the latter helps me get back on the blog-track too!

Beginning of a new year is a great way to reflect on the life you're living. While thinking about where I see my life going this year and figuring out future plans I realized I take life too serious. We all do. We're so busy working and putting all the energy into building careers that along the way we forget to live. We forget on the little things that make us smile everyday, we forget to take care of ourselves and we forget that at the end, our happiness is the only thing that really matters. So with these thoughts in mind I walked into a fresh year, dedicated that I'll take time for myself, do things that make me happy, be brave and take chances. And if I fail, I'll pick myself up and go toward a new challenge. At the end.. You Only Live Once! ;)

So January was all about doing what I love, which means:

.. taking selfies and enjoying pretty little girly things

 

.. reading Vogue and trying out new makeup

 

 

.. spending time with friends and discovering new eating spots in town

 

.. taking adventures and building (tea) castles in the sky.

2014 has come to an end and it's time to throw one last Instaparty. Past year was quite fun, but now let's cheers to 2015 - the best year so far! Here are some rules to keep in mind :)

Rule N°1: Make every day the best day of the week! And when it gets boring,
get crafty and try this DIY project.

Rule N°2: There's never enought sweets and chocolate can always make
you feel better!

Rule N°3: Take a moment every day to appreciate all the
beauty that surrounds you.

Rule N°4: Believe in yourself and follow your dreams! Don't be afraid to become
the person you've always wanted to be.

Rule N°5: Don't rush through life, but take time for yourself. Stop for a moment
and think about all the amazing things that happened to you.. and those that still will!

As leaves change their color from season to season, so does my Instagram feed. Warm red, orange and brown shades herald last sunny days and the beginning of the coldest season of the year. Although this is my least favourite time of the year (too cold for me), I'm happy that I'll be spending festive days in Ljubljana, surrounded by Christmas lights, mulled vine and my amazing friends. But for now let the hashtags tell the stories.

Can you believe it's already September?! Time flies by so fast and I feel like summer has ended before it even started right. I know we're all sad about hot, sunny and carefree days coming to an end.. BUT there are some things to be excited about fall too! First of all: fashion weeks. Second: fall wardrobe shopping. Third: new season of your favourite TV shows and fourth: beautiful autumn leaves and colorful nature.

 

So let's welcome new season with open arms and say goodbye to summer with this last summer-inspired Instapost.

If you've read my post about Spring cleaning, you could see that the last step of organizing your closet is to make a list of the things you still need and.. go shopping! This is exactly what I did and during one month bought some new clothes that were (more or less) needed in my wardrobe. Now I'm sharing them with you because everyone knows that sharing is caring! ;)

Nude sandals are one of the most classic and versatile shoes that every girl needs in her closet. They're so easy to combine and these ones from Zara are also very comfortable to walk in. I almost had to fight for them, since my size was sold out. But I guees they have been destined for me, since I finally got them at the end! :)

Black leather skirt is this year's must-have. I mean, it's just so verastile, you can combine it with in fact anything. From tucked-in sweaters during daytime and crop tops in the evenings. I got it in H&M.

I know that peplum isn't really in fashion anymore, but I still like it. I bought this shirt in Topshop yesterday and love its material. The upper part is made of neoprene and lower part of fake leather. It's perfect for long summer party nights!

You might already know that bags are my biggest obsession. I actually haven't bought any in a few seasons so we can say that it was about time for a new purchase ;) I fell in love with this small red DK bag the minute I saw it. I love its chain straps and the fact that you can wear it as a shoulder or crossbody bag. And do I even have to talk about the color? You know I'm a sucker for brights!

Last but not least- pants. Everybody needs them, right? :) Skinny jeans is from Massimo Dutti (the best model ever!) and the black ones are from Topshop. They're made out of a very thin fabric and perfect for warmer season.

I've always liked watching What's in my bag tag Youtube videos. I don't know why girls like to see what's in others girls bags so much, but I guess they offer a sneak peek of someone's life. With this intention, I wanted to show you what stuff I always carry with me in MY bag. To get to know me better or just to feed your curiosity ;)

Guess bag: I bought it a few years ago, but it's still one of my favourites. I love its snake fabric and bright blue color.

iPhone 4s: Obviosly I don't go anywhere without my phone.. I mean, who can? The Chanel nailpolish case is from etsy.com.

Kate Spade wallet: I bought it on my trip to Vegas and maybe you recognize it from this post. I always buy a good quality wallet that I can use for many years and this one is no exception. I love its vibrant color and transparency.

Filofax planner: Every organized girl needs a planner, right? It gives me a good glimpse of my work schedule, important meetings and party dates. This one is from Filofax and the great thing about it is, that papers are removable, so you can easily exchange old calendar with new one, when year's around.

iPod: Because you never know when you might need a little music to cheer you up.

D&G sunnies: They're always in my bag, if not for sun protection, for some stylish touch.

Catrice chubby stick: I love chubby sticks! They're some kind of mixture between lipstick and lipgloss and feel so good on your lips. This one is from Catrice (in shade Rusty in Peace) and I really like its soft pink color and sweet vanilla taste.

Catrice eyeliner: I wear eyeliner pretty much all the time and I hate it when it gets smudged through the day. This is why I usually carry eyeliner with me- for little corrections.

Essence nail file: Because nothing worse than a broken nail and no nail-file around, right? #firstworldproblems

L'occitane hand cream: L'occitane hand creams are the best, since they come in such a small packages (+ smell so good and take good care of your dry hands).

There has been a lot of talk about fashion trends lately, so this time let's put the beauty in the spotlight! Recently I've become obsessed with youtube makeup tutorials. I would watch video after another and literally spend hours admiring beauty gurus doing their amazing makeups. They are also the reason I've bought a lot of new beauty and makeup products recently and have just been trying out different looks. It's so much fun, I just can't stop (and I won't stop..)! ;) 

 

Across all the products I've been using, there are some that really stand out and I would recommend them anytime. Here are my best of the best:

 

I've tried quite a few black nailpolishes from different brands, but have always been dissapointed, since the color was very poor and they didn't last long. This was until I got Chanel Black Satin from my friend. The color is so rich that you can apply only one coat and it lasts almost through the whole week. I really recommend this one!

Lady K. beauty tip: Beside your color polish, always(!) use base coat first and top coat at the end. Finish up with fast dry drops. These three steps are very important, since they make your nailpolish last longer and prevent any peelings.

This gloss was a present from my friend and I just love it! A special thing about it is an easy click-to-open package (so cool!) and an expert applicator that hugs your lips, resulting in a smooth and line-free vinyl lip look. The gloss comes in 18 shades, so every girl can find a perfect color for herself.
 

 Lady K. beauty tip: Apply a touch of pressed powder before using a lipgloss. It will help the color to appear stronger and last longer.

I've been using Collistar foundation for a very long time (maybe you remember it from my previous beauty post), but few months ago I discovered Clinique Even Better foundation and was pleasantly surprised by its silky texture and perfect coverage. It makes your skin look flawless with just a little amount. 

Lady K. beauty tip: Apply your liquid powder using foundation brush to create airbursh effect.

I've been using liquid eyeliner for years and it has become my signature look. I've tried many different liners through the years and recently discovered this one from Catrice. Bingo! It's the best! The texture is very fluid, but the color appears very strong and stays on through the whole day. And another great part is that is very cheap and you know that good price + good quality = perfect combination. 

Lady K. beauty tip: People often ask me if I do my line with only one move. Yeah right, more like twenty. I often start in the middle of the eye and then draw little lines from the inner corner of the eye out, until I finish by making a little curl. So don't try to draw your line with only one move but take your time by making several small lines, until you get the perfect shape.

I can't believe what a difference can shaped and accentuated eyebrows make to your face! I use this Colormebeautiful eyebrow pencil (in the color blonde) on a daily basis. When I want to create more striking look, I add some darker brown eyeshadow over it. This is a great way to embrace your eyes and define your whole face.

Lady K. beauty tip: Don't try to fill your brows by drawing long strokes with your pencil. Instead, make many little lines to create more natural look.

 

I have so many brushes and I think I'm obsessed with them.. but if I could live with only one brush, I would definitely choose this round blending brush from MAC. It's the best of the best, really. It helps you apply the eyeshadow and then blend it perfectly. #HighlyRecommend

Lady K. beauty tip: When doing smokey-eyes-look, blend the black lines using dark brown eyeshadow. This will create the perfect image of faded makeup look.
