F/W 2013 Trend Report

I know that we're all sad that summer has come to an end, but there's one good thing that fall brings with it: wardrobe update! It's time to clear up your our clothes and replace them with sweaters, jackets and coats. If your wardrobe needs a F/W refill, here are the trends that you should be looking for when going shopping.

WINTER WHITE
White on white has been a big trend for a while now and will continue on to fall and winter. Use your summer shirts and combine them with warm white sweaters and a white furry coat. If this is too white for you, add a bright bag or shoes as a pop of color.

OVERSIZE COATS
First shirts, than sweaters, then jackets.. and now oversize-fashion has taken over coats. I personaly don't like oversized clothes, since they hide my figure and feminine curves. But if you're a type of person that looks good in this kind of clothes, then you should definitely go for an oversized coat this season. Three-quarter sleeves can make it look more playful and show your armparty.

BUTTONED-UP
This season is all about showing less, so button up your shirt! This kind of style elongates your body and make you look more elegant. Tuck your shirt into the skirt to make it look more official or wear it loosely for a more casual look. Click here to see how to tuck your shirt like a pro!

CAMO
I still remember camo being a big hit when I was in primary school. We all wore camo baggy pants and maybe even combined them with the same shirt. Good old times, right? :) Well, guess what, after such a long time, camo is back in the game! But don't overdo it! A camo jacket or shirt will be enough.

OVER-THE-KNEE HIGH BOOTS
Since we saw them on Chanel fashion show, over-the-knee boots have become a winter must-have. With a heel or without, they can be a great fashion statement, but not on everyone. Don't wear them if you're short, because they can make you look like puss in boots! ;)

POWDER PINK
Powder pink will join this seasons' main colors, such as blacks, greys, reds, purples and emeralds. Show your feminine site with a soft pink combo or go for a cute girly coat.

FURRR
Without a doubt, fur is the biggest trend of the season. Go for a bright furry vest or a jacket made out of a different shades of one color. The best part about fur is that is not only fashionable but it also keeps you warm during cold winter days.

TWEED
The first thing I always connect with Chanel is tweed. The brand has been using it since ever and this season they're not the only ones. This sophisticated fabric has spread over the fashion houses and this season you can will find it everywhere. Go for a tailored coat and combine it with hat of a same color. Also skirts and shorts (worn with some thick thights) will do the trick.

TARTAN
Tartan is one of the patterns that we haven't seen for a while now. It looks like it has already spread over the fashion bloggosphere, since you can find at least one piece of it on every blog. Go for a slim tartan pants or wide flannel shirt for a casual look, or wear a combo if you want to make a statement. You can get a lot of inspiration from Moschino F/W 2013 fashion show.

LEATHER
This sexy fabric is continuing to follow us from season to season and is getting more and more trendy every year. This season is not only about black anymore. Brown, grey, yellow, burgundy or purple are the colors that are dominating. Since leather can look too sexy sometimes, have in mind to keep it classy, never trashy!

MOHAIR
Another very feminine and soft material that is a must-have this fall. If you want to create a feminine look, go for a pastel dress and combine it with skin-tone tights and a court shoes. For more casual look, combine the same dress with a black leather jacket and some lace-up booties.

POINTED TOE FLATS
Do you see how slowly and patiently are pointed toes coming back in trend? It's not so easy to get used to them after many years of round toe shoes dominance. But here they are and this season they have expanded on to flats. Black or bold, with strapes or without, leather or suede.. the choice is big!

CHECKS AND HOUNDSTOOTH
Another interesting pattern that has taken over F/W fashion weeks. Tommy Hilfiger combined different checks with houndstooth and added a pop of color with red stripes. Very fashionable choise that only the brave can pull off.

ROYAL STYLE
I bet you all saw Dolce & Gabbana F/W 2013 show (if not- now is the time!). The collection is ispired by byzantine empire and the clothes are just breathtaking. All the little details on exquisite golden fabric, crowns, feminine silhuetes, sophisticated make-up.. everything is just perfect. I know that's too muchfor an everyday life, but at least add a little glam into your wardrobe with a statement ring or earrings.

PENCIL SKIRTS
Last but not least, there are pencil skirts. The great thing about pencil skirt is, that you can easily dress it down with an oversized sweater or make it look elegant with a tucked in buttoned-up shirt.

Let me know which one of the trends is your favourite and how would you wear it!
