Italy isn't only know for its delicious pasta, but also for its exquisite taste in fashion. Don't believe me? Just take a look at the collections of Alberta Ferretti, Giambattista Valli or Dolce & Gabbana and you'll have a proof.

After scaning all the looks from MFW I can see a lot of similarities among designers. There was a lot of delicate lace embroidered with flowers and shiny embellishments, tulle dresses combined with heavier materials like leather or knitwear and even satin paired with fur. To sum up, it seems like in the upcoming fall and winter we'll be mixing materials like PROs.

Now let's take a closer look at my favourite collections. There aren't any newcomers on my favourites' list, except Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, which I haven't even noted since now. He described his collection as a mashup of Princess Diana and Siouxsie Sioux and just a glance at some of the pieces confirms the claim. With high-neck blouses and pleated baggy trousers he managed to show that era in an updated version. His collection is a combination of femininity and girlishness, which I absolutely love.

Dolce & Gabbana was magical too. The show was a set of different fairytales and Stefano & Domenico were the storytellers, telling us the stories through their amazing clothes. "Fashion makes people dream," they said. Oh, and how we dreamed. Dreamed about their princess dresses, hanging in our closet. Let's hope dreams really do come true.

All good things come to an end and so has the fashion month. Even though I didn't attend any of the shows, I have a feeling like I was there thanks to all the bloggers who posted pictures and videos on their social media. For me just looking at photos of such an exquisite pieces makes me so freaking excited. All those rich materials, subtle details and flaring fabrics literally give me goosebumps! I mean, you definitely don't see anything like that in Zara or H&M.

So let's see which designers outdid themselves at Milan and Paris fashion week. Let's start with the best: Dolce & Gabbana and Chanel. Two brands that always manage to take my breath away, even though this season they didn't present anything particulary new. D&G's collection was exploring the Sicilian history and we saw earrings in the shape of lemons and oranges, crocheted raffia bags and wooden clogs. And models were taking selfies in between their runway walk. How cool is that? And Chanel.. well, there was nothing special, really.. except that Karl turned the whole runway into an airport! Whaaaat?! His creativity really has no limits. Chic and flirty collection is screaming my name and I'd be the happiest girl in the world to check on Chanel airplane one day.

But let's not forget others. I also loved Alberta Ferretti's and Zuhair Murad's collections, but was dissapointed by Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton, who just didn't bring anything special to the table.. or maybe they're just not my kind of style. Another fashion month has ended and left us with cravings and bunch of new items on our wishlist. Even though I didn't attend any of the FWs, I feel like I was there thanks to Snapchat and Instagram. It's amazing how social media can make you feel like a part of something even though you're miles away.. 

 

Appart of the amazing street-style looks, that these days attract more attention than the actual shows, some of the collections were quite amazing.. to say at least. Dolce & Gabbana left me speechless and Karl Lagerfeld has showed once again that Chanel isn't only about the clothes, but it's important to tell the whole story. Of course other designers showed their originality too. Just take a look at Saint Laurent's edgy makeup or Givenchy's striking face ornaments! Seems like creativity of these designers has no limits and they proved once again that they belong to the very top of the fashion industry. Here are the looks of my favourite collections.
